Crime and Safety January 2019
We're excited to start of 2019 with our Crime and Safety Meeting scheduled for this coming Wednesday January 2nd, 2019 at 5:30pm. Our guest speaker will be coming from the ATF so please come with questions. We almost have the entire year booked for future Crime and Safety Meetings locations and we will advise them on Wednesday. We are currently waiting for confirmations for the later months in the year.
We're excited to see you all again, and I hope you will pass the word around.. The meeting is scheduled for the Vibe at 526 E. Concordia. PO Lewis will be adding a reminder on the next door app tomorrow.

Alderwoman Coggs Hosts budget listening session with Governor Elect and Lt. Governor Elect
6th District to host new Governor, Lieutenant Governor for budget listening session
Alderwoman Milele A. Coggs encourages residents to attend a budget listening session in the 6th District this Wednesday – December 19th – hosted byGovernor-Elect Tony Evers and Lieutenant Governor-Elect Mandela Barnes.
The event on Wednesday will start at 4:30 p.m. at the United Way of Greater Milwaukee and Waukesha County Volunteer Center, 200 W. Pleasant St.
The event is FREE but those planning to attend MUST register in advance by going to https://bit.ly/2B3PoJ6.
“The Governor-Elect and Lieutenant Governor-Elect will be using a roundtable discussion setting to encourage the sharing of state budget ideas, and I strongly encourage residents to attend,” Alderwoman Coggs said.

Live Your Dreams-Community Resource, Health, and Vendor Fair.
On Saturday, December 22, 2018, 5PNA will host a community resource event at Grace Fellowship at 3879 n. Port Washington ave.. Our goal is to feature businesses, services, access to safety services, and allow for residents from a cross section of the city to network, get help, purchase products, etc..
This will start at 10am and end at 3pm. Set up is at 9:30am. Vendor booths are $10.00 per booth. You are asked to bring flyers or brochures as well as some items for sale as we will publish this event through our social sites and listserv and eventbrite.
We ask that you respond with your intent to attend. We will then send you a form that asks for your business name and a description of what you will have available at the event. Vendor fees are due prior to the event to ensure that a table is held for you. Your is requested by Thursday of this week and your fee by check or money order is due by Friday, the 14th to our office (mail it in). We will send the slip upon receiving your confirmation.

January's Crime and Safety Meeting will be on Wednesday, January 2, 2019 from 5:30p-7pm at the Vibe located at 526 E Concorida Ave. If you or your block watches would like a specific speaker to come for future Crime and Safety Meetings please advise and we will work them into the 2019 schedule. We are currently working on setting up locations for all of the 2019 meetings. Our goals is to move them around the district so we can target as many citizens as possible. As soon as we get confirmations on all the locations we will be making a flyer and sending them out. We appreciate our partnership with you all and we look forward to working together in the 2019 year.

After nearly 5 months of transformation, 5 Points Arts Gallery and Studios is emerging as the hot spot for artist shows and sells: 3514 N. Port Washington .
About this Event
Attendees are invited to tour the gallery and studios, view the posted art work and choose a piece for their art collection. At 3 PM artists will present information about themselves and their particular types of work and at 5pm musical entertainment will close out the opening ceremony. Bring a friend and a youth whose art skills are emerging. This new art hot spot is the place for enjoyment and learning. Other information about the venue available upon visit and request. This is designed to work on art skills, community engagement and enrichment and just enjoyment. We are asking that families bring a pumpkin or pick up one from the Pumpkin Giveaway at 2615 N. Martin Luther King Drive that the Historic King Drive BID No 8 is giving away and come and enjoy the fun. Please respond with your intent to attend as we would like to have ample space and some additional games while there may be some waiting for assistance. 5PNA will have a limited number of pumpkins on hand for this event but encourage families to pick up from BID so that they are able to join in on the fun. Adults are asked to remain with their child and sign in so we can keep an accurate count for future events. University Honors Scholars Program at MSOE's Honor Scholars is planning to have a tent set up and UWM service learners and 5pna residents are willing to help.

5PNA desires to share with you an exciting historic event.
As you are aware the Yesterday's Negro League Baseball Players are being honored tonight at the Brewer's game. However, some of you may not be aware that the Living Legends that have made the journey to Milwaukee are working to building the bridge to Greatness by providing the following Day long activities tomorrow at the Clinton Rose Center (MLK and Burleigh).
The objectives are to pass on history, meet the Living Legends, Celebrate the 10th year anniversary of the Landmark commemorating the Negro Leagues, meet and greet the living legends, and provide baseball technique clinics as instructed by the living legends.
This event is open to the community. Your kind donation is requested to further enhance the goals of the Yesterday's Negro Leagues Baseball Players among which is its Bridging the Gaps to Greatness Youth Initiative. You tube videos of Dennis Biddle and the Bridging to Gaps greatness are available.

If you have any available cinder blocks: those used for foundations etc.or even retainer walls, and they are in good shape, please bring by and leave at the garden. Thank you.
