Could you Be One of the Heroes to Lead us out of Coronacrisis?
We all remember Yoda in the Star Wars movie “Return of the Jedi.” I often wonder if Yoda knew that Luke Skywalker was the Jedi Knight who would defeat the Dark Side. Would he or his training have been any different if he already knew the important role he played in defining the history of The Force?
Ok. Too far out there? What about the mother of our former President Barak Obama?
Do you suppose she ever imagined that she was raising a son who would become President of the United States of America? Too lofty?
What about the parents of Greta Thunberg, the seventeen-year-old Swedish environmental activist, who also has Asperger’s syndrome and obsessive-compulsive disorder?
If you knew or could see your future ahead of time, how many of you would have ghosted from your life ages ago?
Many times I look at my clients’ lives and I see so many areas where they are successful, talented, and quite adept. They can do things easily, where others struggle. They are good organizers, top-notch managers, and stellar scientists.
Yet, in other areas of their lives, they often feel powerless, defeated, and stuck.
I sometimes ask what they would do if they believed that the skills, talents, and gifts they displayed so easily in successful areas of their lives, were equally present in the other less successful areas?
It seems to amaze them.
They never see it.
We are allowed to believe what we choose to believe.
And the degree to which we believe something determines how much and to what extent we allow that belief to infiltrate our minds, direct our actions, and ultimately define the course of our lives.
So what if your idea or something that you did was exactly what would lead us out of this Coronacrisis? What could that possibly be? How would you show up in your life? What would you have to believe about yourself?
Can you believe it now?
